A curved snowbank on the edge of Bryce Canyon leads one down into the maze of sandstone hoodoos and buttes. The clouds came in at the right moment providing some warm light in the sky. The entire scene reminded me of tub of ice cream for some reason...

An eerie and surreal scene over layers of the Grand Canyon as thick smoke from the Apple Fire in California floods this southwest gem. The setting sun, filtered by the thick smoke turned into a fiery orange sphere just before dipping below the horizon.
