Soft morning sunrise light begins to paint comb ridge in warm hues as the San Juan river provides a nice cool contrast. The bears ears and Abajo mountains loom on the horizon.
High above the San Juan river as it winds through canyon country from a stunning overlook with views stretching out as far as Monument Valley, which can be seen on the horizon.
Colorful sandstone patterns can easily mimic the patterns found within the body. These patterns gave me the impression of the muscles within ourselves.
The colors, shapes and patterns of these bentonite badlands are some of the strangest looking landscapes in the southwest. Some almost look cartoonish.
